Exorcist needed

Finn's new talent is making demon noises. I'm hoping to post video of it (if I can figure out how to do that), it's so strange. We made the mistake of laughing at him doing it last night, and now he's freaking out his babysitter.

In addition to being Rosemary's (grand)baby, Finn took three steps yesterday.
Though he loves walking while holding our hands, he still seems more interested in climbing everything possible (a stereo, the couch, his toys, his parents, and anything that isn't ment to hold a fat baby's weight).
The beast is also losing interest in baby food. Pureed string beans were greeted with his new Ghostbusters-Fridge-monster growl. His new favorites are kiwi, avocado, toast, and scrambled eggs.

Baby Beluga

Finn had his first swimming pool experience today. Brian and I took him to the Y and he absolutely loved it. He smiled the entire time while splashing, kicking, and trying to put his face in the water and swim on his own.

I can't wait to take him back, but we need to figure out the logistics of wrangling him and trying to get dressed at the same time- that part was not fun (any suggestions?). The Howard Hughes in me can't just let him crawl all over that nasty locker room floor while I get dressed.

A week of firsts

1. First ear infection (a rough week for all three of us)
2. First blowout of diaper so bad that poop puddled in his footie PJ's foot (how fun for his babysitter Kelly)
3. First step! I don't know if it's a fluke, but last night Finn took his first step to me after pulling up and standing by the ottoman (one of his favorite activities). He did it again a couple more times when Brian got home from work and took two steps. I'm not ready for any walking yet; he'll be 8 months next week. I'll have to do some research on ancient foot-binding techniques.

Finn, Alex, and Lily

My cousin Tricia and her family came to visit last month from D.C.- bringing with them lots of toys for Finn. I blame them if Finn walks early. He loves pulling up on all of his new toys.
Alex and Lily are so cute and well behaved. Tricia and Criag are setting the bar a little too high for parenting.

October pictures (I know, I'm working backwards)

Here are some pictures from our visit to Aunt Connie's before Halloween. Finn is showing off his jowls to his girlfriend and fellow monkey Frankie. It's ok because they're not blood-related cousins.

Teeth

Back to work tomorrow after a long Christmas break. I'm going to miss spending every day with the little guy. It seems like he's grown so much bigger- just in the past 10 days. He's getting even more vocal and is extremely difficult to contain. I'm scared to think of what he'll be like once he starts walking.
His new trick is chewing up the crib. He just stands there and smiles when you walk in to find him doing it.
It's so gross, the scraping sound, the marked up wood...he's like a puppy. Except puppies don't laugh when they pee on you.

Uncle Greg flew in from Utah for Christmas. Finn loved hanging out with him-so much so that he refused to sleep after Greg left.
We can't wait until he moves back in April. He's way better at fixing stuff around the house than his brother.

A Gift from Aunt Adela!

Check out the quilt Adela made for me! She made my curtains, and now this! She's the best! My mom is so lame and un-Asian. Oh, and she's cooking up a little friend for me (Adela, not my mom, good lord!) He or she will be here in May.

Wrapping paper is so much better than stinkin' presents.
